“One and a Half Heroes” (2012), also referred to by its tentative title “Tornadoclaw”, features the opening theme song “Long Way Down” written by Rick Jay Glen and Robert Gustafsson.
The theme song tells the story of Tigerclaw, formerly known as Tornadoclaw, the King’s once greatest hero, who under the spell of an powerful sorcerer, turned against his team of warriors and shamed his own name.
Thought to be dead, he sneaks into the King’s city, only to be captured by the King’s guard and placed in the dungeon, until a group of stealth assassins breach the city and threaten the sitting King from his throne. Tigerclaw escapes to protect the King and bring honor back to his name.
“Boonie Bears to the Rescue” (2014) was the first theatrical feature film from Fantawild Animation and featured Rick Jay Glen as vocalist for the Motion Picture Soundtrack on “Lola’s Eyes” and “Boonie Bears" Samba” (ending credits).
The song “Lola’s Eyes” refers to one of the characters in the movie. A little girl by the name of Lola is kidnapped and then lost in the woods. After Logger Vick confuses two similar looking suitcases, the young girl begins her whacky antics with the grumpy old logger and her new found forest friends, Briar and Bramble.
“Boonie Bears: A Mystical Winter” (2015) Motion Picture Soundtrack, Rick co-wrote the beautiful ballad “Never Any Distance” lyrics and worked as Music Supervisor for the film.
The song tells the magical story of Bramble’s long lost childhood friend, Neva, a creature of folklore that is rumored to be the source of winter. The track was originally intended to be a duet with Nelmari Reyneke and another male vocalist, however, due to production schedule conflicts, the track was sung entirely by Reyneke herself.
The intended duet version was never recorded.
“Boonie Bears” Animated Series (2010-2022) ending credits theme song “My Honey” was co-written by Rick Jay Glen lyrics and melody. The song was performed by Joey Lambert in the voice of Bramble.
After production of the first two seasons of “Boonie Bears” and “ Boonie Bears or Bust” in 2010 to 2011, the song was added as the ending credits theme song for the series international version to be streamed in the U.S.
